A new Alliance française in Miami [fr]
The Alliance française Miami Metro opened its French courses in September 2018. It joins the already large family of Alliances françaises in our region: Bonita Springs, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Naples, Greater Orlando, Porto Rico, Sarasota, and Tallahassee. New students will enter one of the largest linguistic communities in the world since French is spoken by more than 274 million people on all continents. It is expected that this number will reach 700 million speakers by 2050.
French, a language of diplomacy and literature, is also the second most studied foreign language in the world and the fourth language most common language on the internet.
Speaking French is also a precious asset in the business world. Francophone countries represent 16% of the world GDP, and the trade among them accounts for 20% of world trade. “The New American Economy” counted that the number of job offers on the internet requiring a conversational level of French has increased by 134% in the U.S. between 2010 and 2015.
There is no shortage of reasons to perfect your French or participate in cultural events that the Alliance française Miami Metro will host throughout the year.
Venue: Lélia Mordoch Gallery: 2300 North Miami Avenue
